It seems like cooking the perfectClassicStacked Double Bacon Cheeseburgerends up being more work than you expect and the taste can never be as good as restaurant quality.

If you are a cheese lover, you are going to love this burger. This delicious, incredibly cheesy dish is another one of our favorite weeknight dinners. This recipe uses a combination of pan searing and baking. Why both?

As you know, cheese can easily turn from nicely cooked to overcooked and crisp in just a matter of minutes. Combining stovetop cooking and the use of the oven will prevent the burnt cheese effect. Homemade burgers and chips beat store-bought every time. Why not make a double and freeze a batch?

Thinking ahead, you can make these Cheeseburger patties ahead of time and freeze them flat for a quick and easy dinner or lunch meal throughout the week. Less prep time now means less work on a busier day.

Now, if you are planning a BBQ get-together and need another burger-type idea for your healthier guest, try these Freshly Made Salmon Burgers.

Let’s Get Cooking

Ingredients Needed

Please note that these ingredients are for (ONE) single burger. You may need to double, triple or quadruple amounts. **For best results, defrost the burgers overnight in the fridge, then cook as per the recipe. Batch cooking at its best.

  • ½ lb. Ground Beef (yes, ½ lb.)
  • 2 strips of Lightly Cooked Bacon (chopped)
  • ½ cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tbsp. Chopped Fresh Chives
  • ½ tsp. Onion Powder
  • ½ tsp. Garlic Powder
  • Dash of Sea Salt
  • Dash of Pepper
  • ¼ cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • sliced Red Onion (all rings intact)
  • 2 strips of bacon (cut into halves)
  • sliced long Dill Pickle (thinly sliced and cut in half)
  • sliced large Tomato (1/2 inch wide)

If you want to make your patties look more like restaurant quality and not hand-rolled a hamburger press is a way to go.

Hamburger presses may not be kitchen necessities, but they sure do help make attractive, more uniform-looking burgers. This is a press that I actually love and own.

It’s time to roll with the bacon

I don’t often eat bacon on my burgers, but when I do, I want them to be the baconiest bacon burgers I can eat.

You can always slap a strip of cooked bacon on top of a burger and call it a bacon-burger, but cooking the patty in the bacon drippings adds another layer of flavor.

Once your hamburger is all dressed, get ready to transfer it to the oven for a few extra minutes of cooking time. Once done, serve on buns with the extra toppings of your choice.

Glorious! Beef, cheese, red onion, and fresh ingredients.

Does it get any better than this?

Enjoy!
